The apps
Midturn is the one real app here. The others are design studies: ideas taken as far as a name, a purpose and a colour, and no further. None of them is in development or available to download.
Larder
Photograph what is in your fridge and get three dinners you can cook tonight, plus the one thing worth picking up on the way home.
Gauge
Point your camera at a warning light on the dashboard and learn what it means, how urgent it is and what to do next.
Frond
Take a picture of a struggling plant and find out what is wrong and what to change this week.
Slate
Photograph a page of your notes and get a short quiz each evening that keeps returning to what you got wrong.
Tern
Record a few seconds of birdsong and learn which bird is singing, and what else to listen for nearby.
Every app here is ours.
No client work, no outsourcing, no white label.
Every app is native: SwiftUI on iOS, Jetpack Compose on Android. Built, released and run in-house. The studio owns the product, the code, the store listing and the mailbox the support mail arrives in.
The hard parts are solved once, in a shared platform, rather than again for every app.
How we make apps.
- One app, one job. Each app does one thing for one person, well enough to earn a place on their home screen.
- Ideas earn their build. Most never get past paper. The ones that do have convinced us before a line of code exists.
- Quiet by design. No ads, no nagging, and nothing running that the person using it cannot see.
- Stopping is allowed. If an app is not working, we stop, write down why, and carry what we learned into the next one.
